Novus Initium is a progression raiding guild whose main purpose is to have fun while experiencing end-game content. We feel that the friendship and social aspects of gameplay is every bit as important as advancing the guild as a whole through team involvement. We have relaxed attendance requirements and strive to maintain an amiable atmosphere. These things perhaps might suggest the contrary, but we are quite hardcore when it comes to raiding and take our efforts towards progression very seriously. Raids do carry with them minimum requirements which will vary according to the particular instance, which means members may not be taken into specific ones based on any number of limiting factors, including gear level. It is our firm belief, however, that gear will come with time and effort and that gear does not define who our members are.

It is to your benefit if you have a current member of the guild sponsor you. Your sponsor must agree to be your sponsor prior to listing him or her on your application. Your sponsor serves two roles. The first is to vouch for you as a player. The second is to serve as your point of contact should have have any questions. If you are in the process of transferring from a different server and you do not know anyone in the guild, please list "Transferring from <your current server>" as your sponsor.
We will review your application by allowing the guild as a whole to comment on it in a private forum. These comments will not be available for you to read at any time. If your application passes guild scrutiny you will be invited to the guild as a trial member. It is important to note that your trial membership is on an indefinite basis. The officers in the guild will review all trial members bi-weekly to determine promotions to regular membership and removals from the guild.
After being accepted as a trial member you will be given our Ventrilo server information. You are expected to join us in Vent during every raid encounter in which you participate. You must also register for and remain active on these forums. Your login name must be your main character's name. If you create a login name other that your main character's name you will be asked to change it for easy identification purposes. Also we ask that you please include your real first name on your profile.
Your trial membership serves a purpose both for you and for us. It is a period of time for you to become acquainted with other members of the guild and for guild members to get to know you. During your trial period you can determine whether you will fit in with the guild and if N.I is a group with which you enjoy playing.

Raiding Information
Currently all three "official" raids nights are comprised of Firelands and Dragon Soul -- and every attempt is also made at downing Baradin Hold. Typically one night per week is used for 10 mans, but as attendance fluctuates which nights are 10 or 25 will vary.
The official raid times are 7:30 to 10:15 server (with invites beginning at 7:15) Sunday, Monday, and Thursday. All raids end before 10:30 pm and all times are server time. Other raids are scheduled for alts, achievements or other reasons but these are not required attendance.
We require that new recruits have a 50% attendance rate, showing up for three or more raids in a two week period. We don't expect you to have the best gear out there right out of the gate. However, we do expect for you to have the best gear that is currently availiable to you, properly gemmed and enchanted in a fashion that reflects your character's progress ambition. New members are not guaranteed a raid spot in our 25s, but an effort is made to work them in for at least partial runs.
